The rest of summer

My friend Rachel took our family photos in July and I love them!
Sam's really only smiling in about 2 photos.

I'm so lucky to have these 2 guys in my life.

We took Sam to his first parade on the 24th.  I'll like it better next year
when he's more excited about the candy and can help me get a bigger stash.
He did love waving to the people and being loud like everyone else.

Last weekend we took some of my family members to bear lake and had a blast.
Jared, Tiffany and their girls came and spent the night which was fun.
Their 3 oldest LOVE the water, they could've stayed much longer.

Travis was afraid this would happen...

Sam really enjoyed playing in the mud, as well as destroying any sand castle in sight.

We did have a little fiasco the first few minutes there. I lost my wedding ring.
I had a little moment and after searching and not finding it we decided
to just enjoy the day and we would keep our eye out for it.
Travis and I went back the next day with some metal detectors that we borrowed
to search for it.  It was fun for about the first hour, but then after uncovering so many
aluminum soda tabs I started to get frustrated.  No luck, but perhaps it'll turn up someday.
But no worries, I'm as spoiled as they come and Travis bought me a new one already...

Our treasures...

Lately Sam likes to hang out on the kitchen floor.

Sam is a full time walker, he loves to wave to everyone and dance.
He's also very independent.  He's doing great at eating on his own.

Here's a short clip of his new dance skills.

Travis made me this birthday breakfast cake for my half birthday. It was a total surprise to me,
as was dinner and a movie that night. :)

Also, for those who haven't heard, we're having another baby at the end of February!

Summer Fun

It's been such a great summer so far.
It's fun to see things through Sam's eyes.
We took him to the fireworks in Logan on the 3rd and more on the 4th in Riverton.
We thought he'd be a little scared, but he enjoyed them for a minute,
and then didn't seem to care the rest of the time.

He was so tired afterwards. :)

Sam got to drive the car at Macey's.

We went to the splash pad to see if Sam would enjoy it and he had a great time.
I think he'll like it even more when he can walk around.

I made this tardis for Sam to play in.

Sam was also kind enough to give Dad some Father's Day snuggles.

Also, earlier this morning I heard Sam gagging, so I ran over to him and he handed me
the thing that had been in his mouth.  It was a huge, black, hairy spider. Dead at this point,
but I'm not sure if it was dead when he put it in his mouth.
I'm still gagging over it.

And here's a video of another day at the splash pad.
