California Trip 2019

Every year we go to St. George in October to watch my dad and usually some of my brothers run the marathon. This year we decided to go to California before since we would already be halfway there. We headed to the beach for day one, and although a little breezy, it was still a beautiful day for the beach. The waves were a bit large, but the boys loved playing in the water and sand. Baby was even excited by the waves, and thoroughly enjoyed getting wet and sandy.

Travis had fun burying kids in the sand.

Tyler making sand angels on his stomach down in the left hand corner. 😂

I didn't realize it until after the trip looking through my photos, but Sam was making a face in so many of them, ha ha! I guess we've reached that stage for him.

We surprised the boys by taking them to Legoland & staying in the Legoland hotel. We had just planned to go to the park for one day, but after hours at the beach we decided to go for a few hours that same day. The boys were so excited, especially when they heard there were rides. :)

There are some pretty incredible Lego creations there.

Sam loved the cars, and ended up with a handful of little drivers licenses.

This vehicle ride was actually quite tiring. You had to pump up and down to get it to the other side and back, and Sam was no help, ha! Also, Tyler really enjoyed the roller coaster.

The favorite rides were probably Ninjago and the submarine ride (that was definitely baby's favorite.) The park wasn't busy and we were able to walk right on to most of the rides which was so awesome. The boys had their fill by the end of the second day and were able to do all the rides they wanted to multiple times.

We got to meet Emmett there too!

Baby loved this Lego do and then threw a sad fit because it wasn't real...

The hotel was pretty neat. We opted for the pirate themed room and the boys got to do a little scavenger hunt for a little Lego prize each night. They also had their own room with bunk beds which was great for us.

Oh my, I just love them so much. Especially when they're happy.

The hotel also had an elevator with a disco ball and it played music every time the doors closed. The was Amelia's favorite thing every. She danced every time and I even had to drag her out of the elevator the last night cause she wanted to stay there and dance. She would start dancing on the way to the elevator, it was so cute. You can see some of it in the video google made for us below. :)

Lots and lots of driving. After 2 days in California we headed back to St. George to meet up with the family. The kids did pretty good in the car, except the last day, Tyler had some major tantrums, and then Sam finally had a whining streak. (I can't really complain though, cause Sam was GOLDEN the rest of the trip, and Tyler was pretty good too. We stayed at the park all day and they were both just so happy and fun.) Amelia even did really great.

Stopped at a new ice cream place in Beaver that my dad suggested.

Did the mayor's walk, swam, played with cousins and cheered on the marathoners in St. George.

Baby got sick our last night there, so we just packed up a little earlier in the morning and headed home. Thankfully she did good on the drive home.

School's in Session

The boys started school! Tyler in his first year of preschool, Sam in Kindergarten! They both love it. Sam has done so well and is already making new friends. So, 2 mornings a week it's just me and baby. She seems to enjoy the one on one time. But she's always so excited to go pick Sam up from school as well.

We had family photos with just our little family. Love them! And of course we bribed the kids with donuts after.

Helped my brothers out at the dusk to dawn relay that they put on for runners at the bonneville salt falts. Long drive out there, but it was fun. The boys are obsessed with Grandma. (all 3 of them.)

Baby is finally saying some words and occasionally she'll perform for the camera.

Apple picking with some neighbors. I made Amelia this tutu, she wasn't a fan, but Tyler loved it. Also, the video below shows how much Amelia loves ducks. They're her favorite, with the giraffe as a close second.

School hasn't stopped the friends. Every afternoon the boys find someone to play with, unless someone finds them first.

We've spent a lot of time hanging out on the new couch lately...

And Amelia figured out how to get up by herself.

Got her hair into a pony tail and it looks weird, ha ha! Didn't stay in for long though.

When we got the new couches, the boys had so much fun playing with the boxes and made up some songs with their little trophies as microphones... They're goofs.

The End of Summer

Summer is winding down a bit, at least in terms of the school year. Sam & I met with his teacher last week. He didn't say a word, just as we thought. But I think he'll be fine.
Sam had a coupon for a free donut at Lee's from a friend for his birthday. We FINALLY went to redeem it a couple weeks ago.

We kept a chart for Sam to see how many days he could go at night with a dry pull up. He reached the goal so we went swimming. The kids loved it, and once they tried the water slide, that was all they wanted to do for the rest of the time. I was so proud of Sam for eventually going down by himself.

Love this photo of Travis & baby below

Spent a day at the park with some friends that are moving out of state.
Raspberries at the farmers market are a favorite. As well as the little donuts.
Swimming at G&G Marbles. Kids day water day.

Went to the park for a family outing.

Love her face

Aggie Ice Cream and a walk around Campus.

We tried out the new ice cream place, IceHouse.

Found out I've been walking around/playing handball/pickleball on a broken toe for who knows how long. Hoping for a quick recovery so I can get back to said things.

River Heights Apple Days! So much fun. Sam went on the bounce slide over and over and over. They enjoyed the candy at the parade of course.

Google photos likes to make "then and now" photos for me like the one below...Time flies.

Baby loves to get cereal out of the pantry and eat it on the stairs, climb in the cupboards, do whatever the big kids are doing, hang out with Ella and she had a blast waving to the animals at the fair.
