Seattle, Washington

Part two of our recent vacation was to Seattle, WA to visit Amanda!!
However, our first stop of the whole trip was actually to my former neighbors,
the Heddings, who live in Kent, WA.
It was so great to see them, even though their two oldest daughters, one
being my dear childhood friend are both married and live to far away to have joined us.
Such a treat to spend some time with them all the same!

We made it to Seattle and jumped right into the sights.
First we headed to a sculpture park.

Then of course to the Space Needle.

It was so neat to see the city from that height.

We went to this fountain, called the international fountain (not sure where it's name comes from)
where music plays and massive amounts of water shoot from this alien ship looking fountain.
This was actually one of my favorite things. I could've sat there for hours.

Travis was brave enough to go touch it while the water had stopped...
as you can see, he made it out just in time, the water's coming. :)

The Fremont Troll.
Just a random artwork of a troll under an overpass.

We also drove about 40 minutes to go see this waterfall.
It was super foggy though, so difficult to get a good look at it.
Also, this waterfall claimed to be taller than Niagra Falls, which I still doubt.

We totally got matching shirt at Pike's Market Place.

Speaking of Pikes Market Place, it was awesome. We loved all our time there.

Here was the random pig that Amanda put money in.

This was the greatest.
We found a super nerdy shop which was full of Doctor Who things, Star Wars,
Star Trek, ect.  Mostly we geeked out over Doctor Who of course.
We may have spent half our time in that one little shop.

And the gum wall.
So disgusting, yet so awesome.

We all added a piece to the wall.

And thus ends our trip up North. So much fun and a nice break from work and school.

Vancouver, Canada

Travis and I took a little trip up to Vancouver, Canada as well as Seattle, Washington last month.
I finally finished editing our photos, so now I can blog about it.

Vancouver was pretty great. Really pretty!  But two days was plenty of time to do what we wanted.
The highlight was the Capilano Bridge Park.

It had Totem Poles galore.

Here's the suspension bridge. It was quite high, and so awesome.

The rest of the park consisted of a beautiful rain forest, bridges up in the trees,
and more gorgeous sites to see.

Up in the trees!

This was the "cliff walk" where the bridge comes out from the cliff about 30 feet or so.

We went on some hikes to a lighthouse, but found this beautiful lookout first!

We spent some time in Stanley Park, which is GINORMOUS.  It was foggy all day.
I would never go in that park alone. But it is pretty.

Found these guys near the coast on our walk.

Got to take some nice night shots of the skyline as well. So much fun!

This is from Granville Island. Which looks way cooler online by the way.
We did ride a ferry back to the mainland though.

Part II of vacation is next!
Our internet is slow, which doesn't bother me unless I have to upload
photos, so this is all for today.
