TOU

Last weekend my dad and my cousin Ryan ran the Top of Utah Marathon
up here in Logan.  It was fun to have the family up here
and to go cheer them on.
We got to see them first at about mile 17.

And we made this awesome, motivational sign.

Ryan was the first to show up, and he looked fantastic!!

Dad came next, he looked like he was having a nice Saturday jog.

He even stopped to chat with Mom for a minute.

We all piled into our cars after that and headed for the finish line.
There we waited and cheered people in and I realized I should have worn
a short sleeve shirt cause it wasn't quite fall standing in the sun for an hour.

Another sign for the finishers.

Dad came first this time. Still looking awesome.

Then came Ryan!!  Under the 4 hour mark!
Way to go cousin!

The police officer was kind of in my way...

Great job Finishers!!!

Aaaand because I'm so excited for Studio C to start up in 8 days,
here's a clip that has some running in it.

Cheese

I know, 3 posts in one week? I must be bored or something.
I was going through some old photos and found these gems...
and since it's throwback thursday or something, I have no idea who came up with that,
I thought I'd put 'em up tonight while it's still Thursday.

Here's the thing. My friends Robyn and Marg started this event called 'Wednesday Night Club'
down in Salt Lake.  When Amanda and I moved back to Logan mid school year
we decided that we should continue WNC to help us make friends.
This particular Wednesday Amanda came up with a pretty wacky, genius idea
for our activity:
Cheese Sculptures
You sculpt something out of a block of cheese!
Does that not sound more fun than anything? That's how we felt anyway.

We had a decent turnout--the usual.
Travis and I had gone on one or two dates at this point and he, being
completely smitten, quickly volunteered to be on my sculpting team. ;)

I don't know what happened to the rest of my photos, but here are the results of the evening:

Amanda and Ryan made these little creatures that are
apparently best friends.
How cute.

Matt and Jamie made this cool house.
Yard included.

Elena made....the golden plates hidden in the hill Cumorah.
Don't ask about the gross looking blobs.

Travis and I made Robot Alien people, and their dog and possibly a cat.

One of the more successful, random WNC's of the semester.

Enough Scarecrows to Last a Lifetime

For Family Home Evening last week Travis found out about this Scarcrow
Festival over in Hyrum.  So we went to check it out.
I'll be honest and say we would not recommend it.
It was pretty random, just a bunch of scarecrow figures with plaques about them.
I took a few photos anyway.

It was a patriotic theme for the most part.
Lady Libery welcomes you in.

Took this one for my brothers. Steven Spielberg, E.T. and Indiana

Took this one for a couple sisters-in-law--
Michael Jackson.

Yes, these were the most exciting things there.
Sorry to bore you.
To make up for it here's another Studio C favorite.
And since I'm dedicating everything on this post to someone,
this one definitely goes to Mom.

Peach Days

We spent the day with the Marbles last weekend and got to go to the Peach Days Parade.
I hadn't been before.  But you can tell by the picture above that it was awesome.
They did throw candy which was a plus. They also
gave us these fake orange mustaches....

I'd say Chaylie wins for most realistic, JD for most talent, and Travis and Colton for...looking alike.

It really was fun to be there with the kids, they get so excited.
Plus, these kids are awesome.

After the parade we headed to Corinne for a BBQ.
In my family, a BBQ consists of Hamburgers and Hot Dogs.  I sometimes
forget that this is false with the in-laws...steak. Which is probably
what most people think of, I dunno. It was good anyway.

Then we shot some rifles.

Justin killed this bird.
I lied. Travis just informed me that JD killed this bird.

I didn't hit anything. No surprise there.

This is also an event that my family would never do. But it was fun.
Love spending time with the family.
:)

I forgot to add these precious photos.
Kaydence had a blast playing in the dirty water while the rest of us were shooting guns.

Bear Lake

While Travis was out of town, we had a going away party thing for
Amanda at Bear Lake with a bunch of friends.
It was a blast, and although the weatherman was warning us that it would
be cloudy and rainy, it turned out to be the perfect day at the lake.
(At least on the Idaho side.)
The water was perfect, not even cold at this time of the year.

Here's some photos from the day.

People enjoyed Bacci (sp?) balls.

The sand castle was pretty epic.

Jamie and I buried my cousin Ryan.

We didn't make it all the way.

And we just had a great time with awesome people.

I feel like this could be on the front of a
card or something...
