S. A. M.

We have a baby!

Samuel was due June 6.
We went in for an ultrasound that day and found out he was breech.
Surprise!  When and how that happened we have no idea-
he was completely out of room.

We knew a cesarean section was likely at this point,
which was not what we had planned, and not what I had prepared for.
As we discussed the situation over the long weekend we
realized how blessed we really were to have had such a healthy pregnancy
and to live in a time when things like c sections could be done
with very little risk.

Finally Monday rolled around and we met with our Doctor, who confirmed that we
would be scheduling a c section for the following morning.
I was scared. I'd never had any sort of operation.
But everything went really well and we now have this healthy bundle of joy to take care of.
It's been so awesome having him home, and he's such a good baby.
:)

One of the first things I heard the doctors and Travis comment on was how
much hair our baby had and that he had a dimple.

The anesthesiologist took our first family photo.
He was actually really great through the whole thing, kept telling me how things
were going and that everything was just fine.
He obviously knew how nervous I was for the whole ordeal.

Finally got to hold him.

All the grandparents came to visit on his birthday.

Aunts, Uncles and a cousin came to visit as well. :)
This kid has a great support system already, so much love.

Travis' cousin and his wife had their baby the night before us so they
were just down the hall from us in the hospital.
We had to go get a cousins picture.  And our baby
is apparently a bully and likes to punch other babies in the head.
But they're both so cute!

Such a good daddy.
:)

We got to go home Thursday afternoon. How daunting it is to
go home with a tiny human being and be expected to care for his needs.
But we're doing it and I don't think we're half bad so far.
We even keep him clean...
Bath Time!

LOVE that hair!
Also, pretty sure he'll be a blondie before too long.

It's surreal to look at this little guy and realize he's ours.
We certainly know God has a plan for all of us, His path is always best.
I've gained a greater trust in Him through this whole experience,
and am amazed at the trust He puts in us to guide His children
through their time here on earth.

Loving every minute.
