Family Vacation Part 1: Denver

We had a family reunion planned with my family in Colorado last week, and we figured that since we were already making the drive we'd go out a couple days early and spend some time in Denver. The kids did pretty great in the car. Maybe I we had just prepared for the complete worst scenario that they seemed like angels.

Travis has a vacation rule--get ice cream every day. While we didn't get it every day, we did pretty good. Of course we stopped and got cones in Little America.

We took the train into the city from our hotel after church.
Spent the afternoon walking around downtown.

The art museum block was my favorite part. They had these cool chairs that when you rocked them they made music. I kind of want one for our yard. And Sam loved getting wet in the little fountains out of the ground. He got sprayed in the face multiple times and laughed the whole time.

We got a photo on the mile high step.

The next day we decided to head to the aquarium in the morning.
It's so fun to see the boys' eyes light up. Sam just ran from exhibit to exhibit.
Tyler was old enough to enjoy himself this time.

That afternoon, to wrap up our mini trip, we headed to a water park, which was totally awesome. I'd love to go back with older kids one day so we could do some more of the rides. We did take the boys on a couple rides, the first one was too fast and scared them, but the second they handled ok.
There were some great kid areas and Sam loved the water slides.
